Deccan Mining Syndicate (DMS), had a humble beginning in the year 1966 under the able guidance of Mr. S.M. Jain (The Founder Chairman), with a production capacity of 1 lakh tonne and raised the capacity to produce over 1 million tonnes per annum, over 50 acres of land. Deccan Mining Syndicate’s production over the years has fallen well within the prescribed format of rules and regulations in terms of extraction at the same time maintaining a high level of production. DMS, has its head office at Bangalore, and corporate office at Bellary. Most of its production is consumed by local steel plants and MMTC (Mineral Metal Trading Corporation). Backed by over 100 professionaly trained staff and over 300 contract laborers

Deccan Mining Syndicate’s mines are situated 60 kms from Bellary, and in the state of Karnataka. The nearest railway station in just 9 kms away from the mines situated at Swamyhalli with its own railway siding. Harbors at Chennai and Marmagoa are connected by rail of a distance of 560 kms and 340 kms respectively.

Deccan Mining Syndicate’s strength in mining and processing high tumbler iron ore lumps are suitable for direct reduction process and also high-grade iron ore fines that are used for pellet and sinter plants - safely and cost effectively. Systematic mining ensures the segregation of the ore, thus maintaining the quality and differentiating the low and high grade.
